Our Story
"To everything there is a season..."
Music.4.Life was created from so many wonderful elements coming together at just the right time; long-standing relationships, uncompromising dedication to the art of music and the ART of teaching it, commitment to collaboration where the sum is greater than each of its parts; and what is ultimately manifested in music at its best, timing!
Having known each other prior in our careers as jazz musicians, educators, and even working in other cities for colleagues, it was uncanny how circumstances presented themselves to think big and realize our dreams of our own idea of quality in music education.
Past teaching, playing and plain old experiences in living have taught us that to do what is truly best by your customers, particularly the children of the universe, is what is lasting and important.
We are not a studio with a staff of teachers, but rather a group of educators on a mission to do our life's best work and to contribute to one and others goals. Working in community with each other, rather than as separate pioneers, has resulted in a spirit of productivity and success.
Our vision of music education, being woven throughout this website, is being realized every day with our 200 plus students. Having opened only in September of 2009, John and Betsy Gurske are very proud of music.4.life. They are proud because it is not about who they are, it is about work shared in common with friends and masterful music educators. And, it is about the students and families who come through it's doors.
