Kristi Lee, Piano
Described by a colleague as "one of those rare teachers with an excellent mix of personality, good teaching sense and performance ability," we are thrilled to have Kristi Lee as part of our team. She loves playing chamber music and is active in professional piano teaching groups.
Kristi brings to our studio several years of professional experience in both playing and teaching. Kristi's strength as a teacher lies in her ability to adapt her teaching approach to students of all ages, levels, and personality type. Because of her education and knowledge of piano literature, she is able to choose from a wide variety of music to meet the needs of different students.
Lessons with Kristi include time-honored classical training in technique, theory, sight-reading, and solo repertoire. Kristi is well-versed in contemporary literature, including such genres as Broadway and praise and worship, and is happy to include a variety of styles based on the student's preferences.
Kristi holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education and a master's in Piano Performance. Upon graduation, she was inaugurated into Pi Kappa Lambda, a national honor society for music students who exhibit leadership, musicianship, and scholarship. She has been an active member of MTNA as well as the ACM (American College of Musicians), which holds National Guild Auditions annually.
Kristi has performed for professionals including Joseph Kalichstein, a world-renowned performing and recording artist, as well as the president of Steinway & Sons. She has served as an adjucator in several piano competitions including the National Federation of Music Club Festivals in Spartanburg, SC.
