Ellyn Stuart, Violin & Viola
Ellyn grew up in a family that was very involved in music. Her mother taught music and both parents played in community orchestras. Along with her brother and parents, they formed the Stuart String Quartet and from the age of fourteen she was already a professional performer. Formerly with the Memphis, Alabama and Richmond Symphonies, Ellyn has been in the Charlotte Symphony since 1986. Her smart and tender demeanor, a wonderful combination in a teacher, and her many years of experience are a gift to our school. Ellyn brings parents comfortably into the learning process, providing much needed security and encouragement for young violinists. She starting teaching the violin at age fourteen and has taught with John and Betsy since the inception of music.4.life.
